Week 10

Dear TK Families,
It was so much fun to see all of the students dressed in their costumes. We really appreciate all of the volunteers and items brought in, it made the day special for everyone!
This Thursday, November 1st is All Saints Day. There will be a school mass at 10:30 a.m. for parents who would like to attend. Although our TK class will not be attending the mass, we will discuss the importance of All Saints Day and what it means to our Catholic faith. We will be focusing on how saints show us ways to live as friends of Jesus.

We hope that you all have a safeand fun Halloween! Have a great week and thank you for trusting us with your child’s education.

Week 8

Dear TK Families,
We look forward to meeting with you this week for parent teacher conferences. Since our rooms are used for the PM TK students, Mrs. Marshall’s conferences will be held in the library (in the first room in the building directly behind the school office) and Ms. Rozak’s conferences will be held in the atrium (next to room 1). We will be going over your child’s progress so far this year and setting goals.

This week we will be starting our sharing homework. We’ll have 3 or 4 students share each week and a bag will be sent home with your child along with the directions. You will work with your child to find one item you have at home that starts with the letter we are working on. It will need to be able to fit inside the brown paper lunch bag that we send home and you will discuss and write down 3 clues for your item. Please have your child practice saying the clues and work on projecting their voice. On Friday, the students will bring their bag back to school. Your child will give the class their 3 clues (we will help them say their clues, they do not need to be memorized) and the class will guess what the item is. It’s a fun way to learn more about the letter of the week and to have your child practice speaking in front of the class.

This week there is a St. Irenaeus “Tasty Trifecta” Dine-out. On Wednesday visit Dairy Queen 9951 Walker St. from 11AM-10PM, on Thursday head to Pieology 9543 Valley View St. from 11AM-9:30PM, and on Friday dine at Panda Express 5825 Lincoln Ave. Buena Park, from 10AM-10PM. A percentage of the sales will benefit our school!

Just a reminder that we’ll be having our St. Irenaeus Halloween Parade next Friday, October 26th. Students can come to school in their costume and afterward we’ll be doing some fun Halloween center rotations. A sign-up for volunteers will be coming this week, we hope that you can join us!

Have a great week and thank you for trusting us with your child’s education.
