Week 5

Dear TK Families,

Now that fall has officially begun, we will be learning about the season and all about apples. In our classrooms we will be having apple tastings and doing apple art this week.

We are looking for any parent volunteers who would like to come and help out in our classrooms, please let us know if you’re interested. We generally need the most help during center time (10:15-11:30). You must be fingerprinted through the Diocese of Orange and complete an online training program prior to volunteering. If you haven’t done that yet, please contact Lily Lobasso at llobasso@stischoolcypress.org for more information.

Parent/Teacher conferences are coming up October 17-19th. Please be sure to log in to Sycamore to sign up for a conference time, we look forward to meeting with you!

Our H.S.A. is hosting a fundraiser this Wednesday, September 26 at the Chili's Restaurant located at 8376 La Palma in Buena Park. The fundraiser will be all day from 11:00AM-10:30PM and our school will receive 15% of the proceeds. Help our school earn more by purchasing Chili's scrip to use at our fundraiser night! You can show the flyer or simply mention St. Irenaeus School.

We hope you have a great week and thank you for trusting us with your child’s education.

God’s Blessings,

Ms. Alex Rozak                                     Mrs. Michelle Marshall

Week 4

Dear TK Families,
September is flying by! We have been busy in our classrooms learning each day.

Our first Home and School Association meeting of the school year is this Thursday, September 20th at 7PM in Room 8. Our H.S.A has lots of exciting activities planned for the year. If you can't make it, watch the meeting and ask your questions by logging in to: https://www.eztalks.com/uc/join_meeting/meeting_id/79573249.

Just a reminder about pick-up and drop-off parking now that we have full use of the parking lot. In the morning for drop-off, TK parents can park in the spots that are close to our classroom. At pick-up time, that area is blocked off for students to use so you’ll need to park in the designated area that is a little further away from our classroom. Please do not move any cones, they are there for everyone’s safety.

For the month of September, every class can win an ice cream float party! Each class that has 100% of their families sign up for scrip and make a $100+ scrip purchase will receive the party. There are many different options for stores that you already shop at such as Starbucks, Sam’s Club, Target, Albertson’s/Vons, Stater Brothers, and more! Remember, you get credit towards your tuition when you buy scrip. If you have questions please contact Mrs. Lambert at slambert@stischoolcypress.org.

We hope you have a great week and thank you for trusting us with your child’s education.

God’s Blessings,

Mrs. Michelle Marshall                                    Ms. Alex Rozak

Week 3

This week we are learning:

Religion: Jesus’ Special Friends
Language Arts: Letters E-I
Week Theme: Feelings
StoryWhen Sophie Gets Angry by Molly Bang
Vocabulary: comfort, snatched, breeze
Math: Numbers 1-5

Dear TK Families,
We have been having fun in TK learning new things each day. We’re excited that the parking lot is now finished, thank you for all of your patience and understanding through it all!
This Wednesday is our first H.O.P.E. collection, this is a monthly drive to support our parish ministry. A reusable red bag will be sent home today (Tuesday), please return it with any non-perishable food items (no glass jars please) that you would like to donate to others in need on Wednesday. Please drop your bag off at the lunch tables right next to the TK classrooms. If you do not wish to donate this month that’s fine too, just simply return the bag and it will be sent home again next month.
We have been enjoying the family pictures that are being shared in class. If you haven’t sent in 1-2 pictures please do it when you can so your child can share them and they can be added to our TK family board.
We really appreciate your understanding in making sure TK is a nut free environment. This means no peanuts, almonds, and tree nuts for snacks, lunches, and any school celebrations.

God’s Blessings,

Mrs. Michelle Marshall                                 Ms. Alex Rozak

Week 2

Dear TK Families,
We made it through the first week of school! We are very proud of our TK classes as they are adjusting to the routines we have established to optimize learning, socializing, spiritual development, and fun!
If you haven’t already, please be sure to fill out and turn in the green paperwork (found in the back to school night packet) to your child’s teacher. The information helps us get to know your child better as we’re starting off the year and there’s also a form for parent volunteer opportunities. Please let us know if you’re available for any school-related activities.
Thank you for your understanding in making sure TK is a nut free environment. This means no peanuts, almonds, and tree nuts for snacks, lunches, and any school celebrations. We appreciate your cooperation in making our classrooms safe for all of our students!
We’ve been keeping our classrooms cool through the warm weather, it might be a good idea to send a sweater in your child’s tote bag just in case or if your child gets cold easily. Please be sure to label all clothing items so we know who they belong to.
You child’s behavior charts were sent home on Friday, please be sure to review the colors, sign it, and return it back to school at the beginning of each week.

God’s Blessings,

Mrs. Michelle Marshall                                 Ms. Alex Rozak
